euspen talent programme
The euspen Talent Programme (formally known as the euspen Challenge) is an international competition to identify exceptional students across Europe with the potential to become future leaders in the field of precision engineering and nanotechnology.
Equipping students with skills of international team building, leadership training and interpersonal development, euspen harnesses values of::
- CONNECTING: inspiring and encouraging development in others
- NETWORKING: building strong relationships and
- LEADERSHIP: through mentoring and cultivating co-participants

Could you share your skills, knowledge and experience at our international conference in CERN in June 2020?
The “CLIC” Challenge:
The aim of the competition is to develop sustainable and affordable alignment solutions for the next generation particle accelerator at CERN. The winning solution has the potential to be implemented over 40,000 parallelepipeds that will ensure alignment of the proposed 50 km Compact LInear Collider (CLIC) currently under study.
STEP 1: Develop a solution to our ‘virtual challenge’
STEP 2: The top 3 teams will be invited to CERN to develop their virtual challenge solution into reality. Individuals will be placed into multi-disciplinary international teams. One team will be crowned the winner
euspen‘s 20th International Conference & Exhibition takes place at: CERN/Starling Hotel, Geneva, Switzerland. Students must be available on Sunday 7th June 2020 to compete in the Challenge final. Each student will receive complementary access to the conference and exhibition and a contribution towards the costs of travel and accommodation.
Who can enter?
- MSc and PhD students from across Europe
- Students studying within the disciplines of engineering, science or mathematics
- Individuals who have not previously participated in the euspen Challenge final
- Hold student membership* with euspen

- Enclose your CV based on the EU-template with particular attention to: A personal motivational statement indicating:
how will I benefit from participation in the event and how will my participation benefit the event? - Include a statement from your supervisor or professor, supporting your entry
